MUNICIPAL WATER AUTHORITY OF ADAMS TOWNSHIP – BUTLER COUNTY
The Municipal Water Authority of Adams Township owns and operates a public water supply system serving approximately 4100 customers, including Adams Township, Callery Borough, and portions of Cranberry, Forward, and Middlesex Townships. The Authority was incorporated by Adams Township in 1989. It took a little over 10 years to secure a water source from the West View Water Authority. The Adams Authority is permitted as a consecutive system with an average daily system demand of 800,000 GPD. The water distribution system is comprised of approximately 76 miles of main waterline, 385 fire hydrants, three storage tanks, and one booster pump station. The Authority currently has an emergency interconnect with Richland Township, Cranberry Township, Seven Fields Borough, and Mars Borough.
